Getting There & Away"
See
new direct flight news below"
Flying is the only realistic option for getting to
and from Cape Verde. There are infrequent sea
services, but they'll probably end up costing as much
as a plane ticket. There are regular flights from
Lisbon and less frequent flights from other European centers.
Praia airport is opening in 2006. It
takes half the time it takes from Northern Europe to the Caribbean.
No inoculations are required - visas can be bought on arrival for around
£30 and only 5 and half hours flight from the UK. They are the
nearest Islands to the Tropics from Europe. Only 1 hour flight beyond the Canaries.
At the bottom of this page you can see which airlines are operating flights to
cape Verde. These are in the process of changing, read the statement below
from TACV commercial director.
TACV-Cabo Verde Airlines, Commercial
Director
Please be informed to all interested in
investments in Cape Verde and also to potential clients that TACV-Cabo Verde
Airlines has a Strategic Plan which include UK direct flight starting on Nov
2006, as its market priorities.
On February 2005, TACV request Cape Verde Civil Aviaton to develop a Bilateral
Air Services with UK and in consequence Cape Verde Civil Aviation address this
request to The Cape Verde Foreign Affair for
Developments, which we think will
be signed in the current 2005.
Best Regards,
